Early in the month, I’ll accompany Mike to a maritime history conference on the Mediterranean island of Malta, and, later on, we’ll both fly to Barcelona for the weekend to join my cousin Tom’s brilliant holiday in Spain.

Hooray, I’m absolutely thrilled to be able to meet up with my friend Karen while she is staying in Zagreb for work! I can’t wait to exploring this historic capital city and the gorgeous Dalmatian coast with her.

The area in and around Birmingham was the setting for our latest bank holiday excursion. We explored the two markedly different cathedral towns of Litchfield and Coventry before spend a day in the city of Birmingham’s museums and vibrant canal district.
16-20 April, 2007 : Paris, France
Mike and I will spend a few days exploring the museums and cafes in Paris and meeting up with two friends from New York City while they are in town. We’re also going to catch up with my friend Ludivine, who has recently moved back to Paris after living in Washington, D.C.
6-8 April, 2007 : Liverpool, England
An Easter holiday here in sure to be a treat with visits to the city’s terrific art museums and a tour of the historic shipyards along the Merseyside.

My friend Julia, a friend and former colleague, also recently relocated from Washington, D.C., to the other side of the pond and has settled in Hamburg, Germany, to attend design school and spend more time with her family. I’m looking forward to visiting and traveling with her as we compare our expat experiences.

See you took a picture of Crown Circus. Glad you like it. A bit of info for you ….. the ‘pleasure gardens’ to the front of the Circus were renovated in the last 5 years part funded by the Residents and by Glasgow Conservation Trust West. The railings you see were re-instated to the original design and the entire gardens re-instated – not many people realise how they are maintained. Have a look at http://www.gordonurquhart.com/projects72a.pdf (page 4) for some before and after shots. Also Google Earth shows the gardens before renovation (at least till they update it).
